Krasse Gueorguiev succeeded!

During the event at Park Center Sofia the organizers of Krasse Gueorguiev's 36-hour running announced the results of the campaign

BGN 16,095 and 13 stotinki, as well as 200 rubles, is the exact amount of the donations gathered through the "36 hours" initiative of ultramarathon runner Krasse Gueorguiev. The funds are earmarked for organizing training camps for children, who have survive cancer and covering the expenses for their participation in the big international competition "Games for the winners" 2018 in Moscow. The amount was raised through a non-standard donation campaign - Krasse Gueorguiev ran on a treadmill for 36 hours at Park Center Sofia. Next to him was a second treadmill, where everyone willing to run and donate at least 1 BGN for 100 meters. The campaign was run in parallel through the mobile app for Strava.

Thanks to the extraordinary media and public interest to the campaign, on the second treademill, during all 36 hours of the challenge, there were supporters, even at night. People from different parts of the country arrived, just wanting to run side by side with Krasse for about 5 minutes and to contribute to the cause. People were of different ages - from children to people over 70s. Among those, who decided to run with Krasse, there were also some of the children "servers" for whom the money was raised. Many famous people and athletes, among them Boyan Petrov and the boxer Kubrat Pulev, visited the shopping center to support Krasse.

The total number of people, who supported the second-run and donation campaign exceeds 200 people in 36 hours. For all the time, there was no time for the path to remain empty. On the contrary, there were people who had to wait patiently for an hour-and-a-half until they could run to Krasse. Even the night hours, were covered by 100% of people from the “Begach” Club. Another big gesture made by the club was to double the donations made by its members. Between 23:00 and 9:30 in the morning, people from Club "Begach" have gone 78,9 km and donated 1,600 BGN (including doubling).

The report from the treademill on which Krasse Gueorguiev ran, shows that he overcome about 246 km for 36 hours of running. According to physiotherapist Dimitrina Sivkova, who takes care of the ultra marathoner, for the whole time of the challenge he had no more than 23 minutes of sleep, divided into two breaks of 13-15 minutes each. Total breaks were 3 for a deeper retreat lasting 13-15 minutes, and 5 breaks for light stretching and a short massage of 3 to 5 minutes. This means that Krasse Gueorguiev rested less than 1 hour in 36 hours.

Despite the success of the initiative, it did not go without problems. Krasse Gueorguiev had a stomach aches throughout the night, which turned out to be the worst period of the challenge. There were also problems with one of his knees and the feet.

For 36 hours of running, the ultra-marathoner changed over 20 T-shirts, more than 10 towels and 2 pairs of high-quality running shoes, debris whose soles could be seen just behind the treadmill.

Despite the difficult test, Krasse is extremely pleased with what he has achieved and especially with the outcome of the donor campaign, which was also the main goal of his initiative. "It was very heavy for 36 hours, but when you decide something, you do it, most importantly, we helped those cool little heroes, I just run, and they’re the heroes." said Krasi as soon as he got off the path.

"For us, the results of this campaign cannot be measured, listed or removed from a box, they are much more. By supporting children who have overcome cancer, being active, sporting and defeating, we have shown that oncohematological diseases are not a death sentence. We hope to give incentives to more sick people and their loved ones to have the courage to fight and do the impossible, as Krasse did with his 36-hour run." - added Venelina Velichkova from Communications and Digital Marketing Agency "all6" - one of the main organizers of the campaign and the event.

The "36 hours" campaign is not over yet. The donations to the bank account of the Children with Oncohematological Diseases Association continue after the end of the run. Representatives of the association said that they needed assistance for other activities such as the construction of a restoration center near Sofia, for its day center at "Tsaritsa Yoanna - ISUL" Hospital and others. Krasse Gueorguiev has also announced that this is the first of a series of charity initiatives he plans to complete the year. The causes will be different, and what will be the next idea, the ultra-marathoner and his team will announce soon.
